Creamy Garlic Greek Yogurt Dip - A Bright, Tangy Crowd-Pleaser

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups plain full-fat Greek yogurt (2% also works)
  • 2–3 garlic cloves, finely grated or minced
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1–2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional but brightens the dip)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill (or parsley)
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives or green onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  • Prep the garlic: Grate or mince the garlic very finely. The smaller the pieces, the smoother and less harsh the flavor will be.
  • Mix the base: In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir until glossy and smooth.
  • Add flavor: Fold in the garlic, dill, chives, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Taste and adjust the lemon and salt.
  • Let it rest: Cover and refrigerate for at least 20–30 minutes. This helps the garlic mellow and the herbs bloom.
  • Finish and serve: Give it a quick stir. Drizzle with a little olive oil and a sprinkle of herbs. Serve with sliced cucumbers, bell peppers, warm pita, or roasted potatoes.
